This year’s Kwanzaa advent celebrates African American Female inventors. Did you know every day, essential items were invented by black women? From the dough kneader to the use of central heating with gas and home video security systems, black women have been making their mark throughout history. Learning about these scientists and inventors has brought me such joy and I knew I wanted to capture their essence in a thoughtful but fun way. And what’s more fun than yarn?
This year’s advent will feature 7-full size fingering weight skeins made on the Tantalizing Tweed base. This base is 85% Superwash Merino Wool and 15% Neps. I will be collaborating once again with my good friend and favorite maker, Whitney Marie Anderson, for notions that coincide with the advent theme. There will be informational literature pertaining to each featured inventor and I have a couple other surprises in the mix as well so you won’t want to miss out.
There will be 25 boxes available this year and each advent will cost $300.00.
Pre-orders will close on November 15th with the advents shipping on or around December 8th.
